Discover Everyday is a creative STEM enrichment programme specifically designed for children aged between four to six years old.
In Discover Everyday, we believe there is much to discover from the phenomena found in everyday life. We want children to see the world through new eyes, to assist them to discover what they know or are capable of knowing.
We use different modes of play such as hands-on activities and experiments, role-playing and creation of toys/models etc to create fun active learning. Then leveraging on the experiences gained through play, we use open-ended discussions to guide the children to arrive at the concepts.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Often subjects are taught in isolation with no obvious purpose beyond the classroom. However with STEM, the curriculum comes alive using a multi-disciplinary approach to show real world connections to create more meaningful learning.
Baojin was a Ministry of Education (MOE) scholar who received a Bachelor of Science with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the National University of Singapore and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education. During her teaching career, she taught at both the secondary and junior college levels.
After having a daughter, she left MOE and worked as a Science Specialist at a kindergarten. At the same time, she conducted STEM enrichment lessons in various schools and organisations such as British Council, Dreamkids Kindergarten, Precious Angel Playland and Licdo Schoolhouse. With the experiences gained, she started Discover Everyday – a creative STEM Enrichment Programme for preschoolers with a mission to develop creative problem solvers who will question the world and finds answers for the future. She is a firm believer of fun active learning and that no concept is too difficult for a child to learn through play.

Teacher Fang, you are one of Dhwani’s favorite teachers. And mine too. I simply love the way you teach and bond with the kids. It’s amazing how you make 4-6 years old understand (and remember!) scientific concepts which older kids struggle with. Since joining the weekly STEM program at her Day Care, my girl would share with me and her father exciting details about daily phenomenon in much scientific details! For example, she was proud to show us the “swinging bowl” toy that she decorated and assembled, she positively demonstrated the “swinging bowl” experiment without dropping any felt ball and correctly explain the phenomenon using scientific terms! As Engineers ourselves, we are heartened to see our child getting excited in areas of STEM. In addition, Teacher Fang very detailed termly feedback allows us better understanding of the program and my girl’s interest and response in the class. We definitely look forward to seeing our girl deepen her interest in the realm of STEM in the guidance and encouragement of Teacher Fang of Discover Everyday!

I am all for praises for Teacher Baojin’s classes. My 5 year old son attended two of her camps, the Lightning McQueen and the Zootopia Camps. He came back from both camps, very enthusiastic, sharing about his experiments and the Science concepts. He could explain Science concepts like push and pull, gravity, force and speed. From the Zootopia Camp, he came back very excitedly explaining heat transfer by conduction and convection, DNA and wanted to carry on some experiments at home. I am very impressed by Teacher Baojin’s impartation of Science concepts to the preschoolers as well as her passion for teaching young children. She truly loves the education of Science and goes the extra mile to deliver her classes with love.
